Our 2023/24 programme.
Our club programme consists of winter meetings (October to March) plus a series of matches and social events held during the spring to autumn fly fishing season.
Winter Meetings
All club evenings are held at Empingham Cricket Club and start at 7:30pm unless noted otherwise. A cash bar is available each evening and we try to provide a free buffet supper at most winter events. This is funded by the raffle so members are encouraged to contribute to this on the evening.

Thursday 25th January 2024: Panel & Pizza, Q&A panel discussion followed by pizza supper
Thursday 8th February 2024: Tackle evening with John Stephenson from webuyfishingtackle.com, including a ‘bring & buy’ sale
Thursday 22nd February 2024: Anglian Water Forum
Thursday 7th March 2024: An evening with Nick Dunn
Thursday 21st March 2024: Club Dinner & Awards

May: The Wadham Shield – Bank competition and social event
May: The Cutting Trophy – Bank competition and social event
August: John Maitland Trophy – Boat match against Grafham, Invicta & Mid Northants. Venue: Rutland.
September: The Loch Style Trophy – Boat pairs event
September: Water Aid event at Rutland Water
October: The Hanby Cup match & social boat fishing event
October: The Club Championships match & social boat fishing event
External Matches
Each year the club takes part in a number of Association of Major Fishing Club matches. We take a team of either 4 or 6 to compete in each event. The dates and locations are waiting to be confirmed and will be added to this page in due course.
Members who are interested in taking part in the AMFC matches should contact Paul Wild and complete the availability form.
